Celebration, set between 1926 and 1945, follows Mijo and his family living in an impoverished Croatian village. After witnessing his father's cruel act driven by poverty and following the municipal authorities' unjust order to get rid of the family dog, Mijo becomes an easy prey for right-wing ideology, which offers him false hope for a better life and a scapegoat for his suffering.

Bruno Anković's feature debut portrays the life of its protagonist at four different points in time, each corresponding to one of the seasons. This impressive and timely film combines a love for nature with serious questions and moral dilemmas.
