Retired pugilist Bernard “Bang Bang” Rozyski is inspired to try his hand at training when he reconnects with his estranged grandson. While their training pulls Bang Bang out of the hole he's been living in, those around him begin to question his motivations – including an ex-girlfriend from decades ago. She witnessed Bang Bang's meteoric rise in the sport in the '80s and his fierce rivalry with her cousin, Darnell Washington, now a candidate for Detroit's mayor.

Tim Blake Nelson stars as the eccentric Bang Bang, a man obsessed with rectifying the sins of his past, in a film that revitalizes the sport film genre with honesty and humor.

Filmography: What Josiah Saw (2022), And Then I Go (2017), Coldwater (2013).
