Each year, the family gathers at their rural home in Osoblaha to celebrate the annual pig slaughter. It is Karel’s favorite event, as it’s the one day of the year when the whole family gathers to rejoice, complain, eat, drink, and just live. But this year is different because Grandpa is unsure how to tell his Karel that this will be the last slaughter, the butcher hides a secret as well, Karel’s daughter Lucie is depressed about her marriage, grandson son Dušan runs away and uncle Šupina is already drunk. This will be some day.

Adam Martinec’s feature debut is “a tragicomic ode to family feuds and disappearing traditions” (Variety).
