Grace, a shy girl who loves collecting snails and reading books, is separated from her twin brother at a young age, causing her to retreat even further into her own metaphorical shell. Despite this, and a range of other troubles, hope enters her life when she meets Pinky, an eccentric older woman. As their friendship deepens, and Pinky's courage and love of life seep into Grace's world, she is given, for the first time in a long while, a chance to break free and re-enter life.

"Memoirs of a Snail" is the new film by Oscar winner Adam Elliot, his first since the acclaimed Mary and Max. In this sharp, touching, and humorous comedy-drama, Elliot explores the lives of outsiders, anxiety, self-confidence, and the light that, despite everything, always peeks through the clouds. The film won the top prize at the prestigious Annecy Festival, the world's largest animation festival, and features the voices of Sarah Snook (Succession), Eric Bana (Munich), and Nick Cave.

Filmography: Mary and Max (2009).
