Silent Trilogy—a triptych of three black-and-white shorts—pays tribute to silent film. The new work by celebrated Finnish filmmaker Juho Kuosmanen is a playful, witty, and warm-hearted homage to the early days of cinema, featuring an eclectic blend of characters.

Scrap-Mattila and the Beautiful Woman (2012): The story of Romu-Mattila, who lives with his dog and, after losing his apartment, decides to sell the rest of his possessions and move to Sweden.

The Moonshiners (2017): A reimagined version of the now-lost first Finnish film. Two siblings inherit all the essentials for a good life: moonshine equipment and a pig. As they embark on their journey, business is good until a card shark arrives.

A Distant Planet (2023): The story of a lighthouse keeper, Marlanda, who builds a rocket to reunite with her little brother Maximilian.

Filmography: Compartment Number 6 (2021), The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki (2016).
