The Last Resort follows the life stories of beach-goers in a very popular beach in Trieste, in the Northeast of Italy, where a wall still separates men from women, a quirky remainder of times past, a bit like the regular visitors themselves.

The Greek-Italian duo of filmmakers, Thanos Anastopoulos and Davide Del Degan, spent an entire year shooting the century-old La Lanterna beach in the culturally diverse city of Trieste. They’ve created a film about boundaries, identities and discrimination, a tragicomedy on human nature.
