Oscar-winning director Damien Chazelle (La La Land) and Oscar-winning screenwriter Josh Singer (Spotlight, The Post) are behind a breathtaking adaptation to the big screen of the real story behind the first moon landing. In the center of the film are the lives of Neil Armstrong, played by the acclaimed Ryan Gosling (La La Land), and his wife Janet Sharon played by Clare Poi (The Crown).

"First Man," the Opening Film of the 2018 Venice Festival, is based on a biography by James R. Hansen which critically and emotionally examines the sacrifices and the costs that the mission, one of the most dangerous in history, has taken from Armstrong himself, his friends and from the entire American nation.
