After the party in Karsten’s apartment, everybody leaves except Anna. Admiringly, Karsten approaches the mysterious woman. How could he know that in a moment of weakness his well-established life would spiral out of control and turn into a disaster?
A small provincial German town is the setting for Aslı Özge’s new film, a first German-language feature from Turkish writer-director. Ozge unpeels the bourgeois complacency of its protagonist and of his social milieu and reveals the disappointment, anger, hypocrisy and evil that lurk underneath.
