Everyone in the neighborhood knows Rosa. She has four children. She owns a small convenience store with her husband Nestor. She sells drugs under the counter to make ends meet. One rainy day, on Nestor’s birthday, the police raid the shop and arrest them. Everyone in the neighborhood knows the rules. You pay the police or go to prison.
Winner of the Best Actress Award in the 2016 Cannes Festival, Jaclyn Jose shines as Ma’ Rosa in a film that shines a light into the dark corners of otherwise unreported lives.
