The theme of migration is tackled by a trio of young Polish filmmakers in their collective feature debut New World.
Żanna, a Belarusian, has moved to Warsaw with her daughter, leaving behind her husband, a musician who has been imprisoned by the authorities. Żanna is embarking on a new relationship when news disrupts her plans. Azzam is an Afghan migrant working at a Warsaw club and involved in a strange relationship with his boss, Łukasz. Wera dramatizes an encounter between a Ukrainian who has come to Poland for a sex change operation, and the young son she left behind.
