Justine, a shy, vegetarian student is following in the footsteps of her entire family when she enrolls at veterinary college. There, in the decadent pitiless environment, she develops an insatiable lust for flesh as the result of a gruesome hazing ritual.
Julia Ducournau's first feature is a bold and bloody exploration of womanhood. Her brutal, cannibalistic coming-of-age story is grounded by Garance Marillier's ferocious performance as the hungry Justine. The film won the Fipresci Prize in the Critics’ Week section of the 2016 Cannes Festival.
