Opening Film
At Villa Biondi, a congenial Tuscan retreat for women in recovery, the aristocratic Beatrice queens it over staff and fellow patients alike. When Donatella, a painfully thin, tattooed mess, is admitted to the Villa, Beatrice makes the wretched Donatella her project. One day she grabs the young woman and they board a bus.
Paolo Virzì’s new film, one of the brightest surprises at Cannes this year, tells the story of an unpredictable friendship, taking us on a hilarious and moving adventure.
