Winner of the Silver Lion for Best Director in the Venice Festival, Paradise tells the compelling story of Olga, a Russian aristocratic immigrant and member of the French Resistance, who is arrested by Nazi police for hiding Jewish children. In jail she meets a French-Nazi collaborator and later a high-ranking German SS officer. The lives of these three people cross against the ravages of war in a richly monochrome and highly absorbing drama.
