Luis Buñuel, the most iconic and provocative Spanish filmmaker of all time, pushed conventional boundaries from the very start of his career.
In 1933 Buñuel made his first and only documentary. The film focuses on the Las Hurdes region of Spain, and the intense poverty of its occupants, who were trying to survive without even the most basic utilities and skills.
