The Haifa Festival bids farewell to filmmaking icon Agnès Varda (1928–2019) with a screening of her last film - an unpredictable documentary from a fascinating storyteller.
Varda - a professional photographer, installation artist and pioneer of the Nouvelle Vague - is an institution of French cinema but a fierce opponent of any kind of institutional thinking. In this film, she offers insights into her oeuvre, using excerpts from her work to illustrate – more associatively than chronologically – her artistic visions and ideas.
Filmography: Faces Places (2017), The Gleaners & I (2002), Jacquot de Nantes (1991), Vagabond (1985).
