Léon Blum, the Jewish French socialist politician and three-time Prime Minister, stands at the heart of a new film. Janot Reichenbach (Elsa Zylberstein) fell in love with Blum (Hippolyte Girardot) when she was only sixteen. Years later, when they could finally be together, the Nazis arrived in France and Janot gave up her comfortable life to link her destiny to that of Leon Blum.
The film is a polished period drama inspired by the work of the historian Dominique Missika.
