The Worst Person in the World

Panorama

Julie is turning thirty and her life is an existential mess. Several of her talents have gone to waste and her older boyfriend, Aksel - a successful graphic novelist - is pushing for them to settle down. One night, she meets the charming Eivind. Before long, she breaks up with Aksel and throws herself into yet another relationship, hoping for a new perspective on her life.

Winner of the Best Actress Award at the 2021 Cannes Festival, The Worst Person in the World is a tender and melancholic romantic comedy. Joachim Trier rounds up his Oslo Trilogy with a gentle tribute to indecision, to the modern refusal to be defined - even by ourselves.
