London, 1953. Williams, a veteran civil servant, has become a small cog in the city as it struggles to rebuild post-WWII. With endless paperwork piles up on his desk and loneliness waiting for him at home, he learns he has a fatal illness. Thus begins his quest to find some meaning to his life before it slips away.
Living is a reimagining of Akira Kurosawa’s 1952 masterpiece Ikiru. With a dazzling screenplay by Nobel Prize-winning author Kazuo Ishiguro, nuanced storytelling by filmmaker Oliver Hermanus and astounding performances led by Bill Nighy, Living is a poignant and mesmerizing gem.
